The International Labour Standards, Rights at Work and Gender Equality Programme has published its 2013 Catalogue. ILSGEN supports the development of knowledge and skills to promote international labour standards (ILS) and rights at work, to strengthen their application and to advance the achievement of equality and decent work for all women and men.

To do this, ILSGEN designs and implements training and capacity development activities for ILO staff, constituents, partners and other national and international actors.

The core themes for its regular training offer (on campus, in the field or by distance learning) are:
• child labour
• equality in employment and occupation
• forced labour and human trafficking
• freedom of association and collective bargaining
• gender equality mainstreaming
• ILS (reporting and other constitutional procedures for judges, lawyers and legal educators, for journalists and media professionals, and for socially responsible enterprises)
• indigenous and tribal peoples
• maritime labour standards

The Centre has 45 years' experience of providing training and learning opportunities and services to decision-makers, managers, practitioners and trainers from the three ILO constituencies – governments, workers' organizations and employers' organizations - and their partner institutions. Its services are also available to the UN system as a whole, including ILO staff.

To date, more than 200,000 women and men from over 190 nations have benefited from the Centre’s training and learning services. In recent years, the Centre has implemented an annual programme of some 450 to 500 training activities with the involvement of 12,000 to 14,000 participants.

The Centre offers standard courses, customized learning events, comprehensive training projects, advisory services, and training material design and production. Activities take place on campus, in the field or at a distance.

Besides the standard courses described in this catalogue, the Centre organizes customized programmes that meet the specific needs of countries. Courses are held in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

This year’s training programme offers new courses on important topics which have seen significant recent developments. In addition to new courses, some existing courses have been revised to reflect key social and economic developments or to address emerging policy debates and challenges.
